After this being my first purchase with StockX, I was disappointed with my experience. It took two weeks to get my product which was supposed to be a brand new Lego Set. While I understand that StockX ensures that all parts and pieces are as described, which they were, they said nothing of the wear and tear, and damage of the Lego box itself (the exterior packaging box that was used for shipping was completely fine and had no damages). When I received the Lego set, the Lego box was dented, flaps were bent and creased, and the edges all around the box was creased. StockX was aware of these box issues and even put stickers showing they had reviewed these said areas and still shipped it that way. They should have reached out during the evaluation to disclose this information and confirm I still wanted to move forward with the purchase. If I had known that this was going to be case ahead of time it would not have been such a surprise. At this point, I am going to keep the product since everything else was there, but I would recommend that StockX does a bit more to improve their evaluation process. If not, then they should be removed from the equation and have the seller send the item directly.
"MUST HAVE" addition to your coaster set!
Nathan B.· Review provided by gameofbricks.eu · December 13, 2023
This kit really brings the coaster to life in the way you would imagine a real theme park would. It also is designed in such a way as to keep 100% of the set functionality.

There are several missed opportunities in my opinion (which could probably be added ad hoc): It would be great to harmonize with the other coaster by lighting the various camera flashes and outlining the letters in the coaster name. The other odd thing in my mind is that there is a single strip of track lights that is solid white, while the others are colored.

Just a hint to those who may have combined this set with the Loop Coaster set - I was able to use the light kits for both and integrate the track lighting seamlessly. Take your time and plan it out (thinking about the location of your power hubs) and it will be amazing!

Overall, I would absolutely recommend.
Impressive

Bit of a step up from my usual kits but as soon as I saw this it lodged in my brain and kept niggling at me. Did a bit of maths and decided that seeing as there was not going to be a holiday this year or even a weekend getaway I could take the plunge and purchase this huge set. Yes, it IS expensive but it is definitely worth every penny; never mind the actual pieces and the build instruction booklets the engineering and design that have gone in to this are incredible.

The mistake I made with this was attempting to construct it over only two days. I did manage to complete it but I will readily admit I was exhausted at the end of each build session. There is a lot of repetitive building of the support struts but I didn't find it boring in the slightest, the only problem for me was my finger tips became sore from pushing all the blocks together. Well worth it because the completed structure is really sturdy and it needs to be because you need to use some force to attach the red tracks as they have a tendency to want to spring back as you attach them.

When I first ran the Coaster it pulled to the top of the lift hill just fine but when it got to the top the bumper was running anti-clockwise so it was trying to push it back down. On removing the bumper I disassembled and carefully rebuilt from the instructions in Booklet 1 and it still happened. After 90 minutes of frustration trying to figure out what went wrong I searched online for the problem and came across someone who had the same problem but had figured out the diagrams for the three bumpers had one of the cogs in the wrong place. I removed each of the bumpers and rebuilt with the amended cog position and lo and behold it worked. So you can add another 2 Hours to my posted build time.

Still not marking it down though as I am genuinely impressed with the overall build. It just fits on a shelf in my living room and I can actually run it from it's new location. Including moving the second train on to the tracks - I was thrilled by the sliding mechanism for this as it does replicate genuine roller coasters train switching systems.

A childhood dream come true
Xaton· Review provided by LEGO · May 30, 2018
As a child I dreamed of building an actual working roller coaster out of Lego. I experimented with using train tracks and Technic beams in different ways, then with some 'hybrids' using metal modelling wire, but I never really got a satisfactory result. I have since seen and admired some really great creations on YouTube, but they were all too big - they worked well as a showpiece, but wouldn't easily fit into a minifigure scale setting, so I wasn't tempted to re-ignite the dream.

I bought my daughter the 'Lego Friends' coaster last year, which is nice but reinforced my belief that a 'real' roller coaster at minifig scale just wouldn't be possible without some serious customisation.

So when I saw this set - a fairly extensive track with good height and a reasonable footprint - I had to have it!

Now, I was a bit skeptical about whether the chain mechanism on the first slope would actually work properly (without snapping every other revolution) and whether the carriages would actually fly round the track smoothly and consistently, but I have to report that it really does all work - whether you keep it as hand-cranked or attach a motor (which can be done with no additional modification).

The design really is excellent - it looks great (structural strength is achieved without a whole load of exposed Technic beams and such) and the track itself manages to look like a convincing roller coaster circuit without being compromised by the motion having to be entirely gravity-fed (as in real life). Both things (the look and the motion) have been well achieved with the carriages progressing securely with low friction - it really is excellent.

The technical components are extremely well thought-out (and I suspect took a number of iterations to get right). The gearing is perfect and the only visible components are the ones you'd expect to see on a real roller coaster.

The other parts of the layout - the ticket booth, juice cabin, queuing path etc. are all very nice, but I would have bought this even without them.

I can only imagine the possibilities of combining 2 or 3 of these sets together, but for the time being if you've ever wanted to build a Lego coaster, I can't recommend this highly enough.
