April 22, 2024I have a beautiful high end set of stainless steel cookware, as well as assortment of cast-iron, but sometimes a certain dish just needs that non-stick cookware solution for both ease and to reduce the need for extra butter/oil/fat. Chose these Caraway pans as I often cook for just one, and these mini versions are a great size for both functionality and storage.
Appearance
They arrived in a nice presentation with extra care to protect the pans, as well as the inclusion of a cleaning eraser for when the pans develop stains, which ceramic can occasionally do over time. They have a good weight to them, so they sit perfectly on the surface and don't tilt when empty (sometimes that seems to happen with cheaper skillets). They really are beautiful looking -- modern yet classy.
Uses
The skillet is an ideal size for cooking an egg, a single portion of meat or fish, veggies, heating up a sandwich (grilled cheese), pretty much anything that is under 8 inches across. The smaller size allows you to use just a tad of your preferred fat or oil, so you are not wasting extra to cover a larger skillet, or adding unnecessary extra fat to your diet. The "mini" sauce pan is a relatively good size for being a mini -- 6.5 inches across and 4.0 inches tall. Ideal for cooking smaller portions of rice, beans, wheat berries, soups, sauces, etc. For any dish that requires boiling water, I'm still sticking with my stainless steel. I'll probably also rely on my cast-iron for meals that go from stovetop to oven (although this ceramic would do fine there too).
Cooking
These pans really don't require much heat to get going -- instructions note to keep your heat at low to medium on your stovetop to avoid overheating which can wear away the non-stick coating. My first test meal was a simple egg, as I figured that would be a good test for both cooking and non-stick. Heated the pan for 90 seconds at a settling just below medium. Added a little under a TBSP of butter to the skillet, then added the egg about 60 seconds later. The egg spread out and cooked evenly and beautifully. The non-stick was perfect as the egg flipped so easily that I realized I could have used way less butter. When done, the egg slipped right out of the pan! After cooling, the pan was a breeze to clean -- took almost no effort and zero scrubbing.
Potential Pros
Beautiful appearance
Good weight - heavier but not a beast like cast-iron.
Non-stick without the chemicals
Cooks evenly with good heat retention
Handle stays cool during use
Oven safe
Clean up is a breeze
Takes up less storage space
Potential Cons
Only good for smaller servings - go with a larger option if cooking for multiple people.
Probably not the most efficient for boiling water due to the need to keep heat at lower setting.
Not recommended for dishwasher (who washes their pots/pans in the dishwater?!?)
I have had some food staining on the outside of the pan that has proven difficult to remove.
Overall I'm very pleased with these pans, as they both look great and cook beautifully. As with anyone who likes to cook, you find that you typically reach for a particular pan for certain occasions, and I'm glad to add these to my rotation.
Fantastic!

October 27, 2024I waited to use these as much as I can before leaving a review. I read everything I could find before deciding to give the mini’s a chance. A test to see if I would like the larger set. I know I am very gentle on my cookware, so I had good hope going in, but many reviews of folks having the coating burned off, no non stick properties after a month, destroyed pans had me hesitant. I can say after 2 months now using these mimi’s every chance I get I love them.
The pan is very small. I can’t use it to cook a meal for two, but it excels if you need to cook some veggies/meat separate from the main dish or quickly toast something. I have used it when I want some eggs for just me, or beed to toast some bread to serve with soup. I just used it to toast some panko to toss on a serving of mac and cheese. When a hello fresh recipe needed some peanuts cooked in sugar for a topping, this dish every time. It is so easy to clean up, nothing sticks, it’s just perfect. I hand wash it and put it back in its holder to dry. After 2 months it still looks new from the box. I haven’t had to scrub anything of it, just gentle wiping.
Same for the pot, it is great for making rice or couscous for 2, heats quickly and evenly. My only complaint is the lid is very flat, so all the water runs off the side as soon as you lift it. Have to be careful so you don’t get boiling water runoff everywhere.
I have an electric stove and never use my pans over a 5 or 6 for the heat level. For context I have a T-Fal non stick pan from 2002 that has been my previous egg pan for over 20 years. No flaking, no chipping, no damage despite constant usage. I had another pot that was the same way for 10 years until my husband started using it to cook ramen packs. He always put the heat at max 10 to get it to boil quickly. That pan has deteriorated significantly in 2 years of that treatment. I also don’t put my good knives or pans in the dishwasher. Always hand wash, even if it’s a day later. If you are hesitant because of the reviews, really assess how you are using your pans. I was so worried, and they work great for me, my husband probably would be raging that they barely lasted a few months after his use. In this regard, I‘m glad he doesn’t venture beyond ramen when he’s in the kitchen.
Couldn’t be happier!

August 29, 2024I ordered this cookware due to a friend’s recommendation, and I was not disappointed. Although it’s still early, nothing sticks to these pans. Rice comes out clean, and I am using substantially less oil than before when I saute, only adding a bit for flavor. Despite that, food comes out nicely crisped and browned. I generally cook tofu for protein, and so far my Caraway pan has produced the best texture and color tofu of any non-air fryer cookware I’ve used with less than half the oil, which is important to me. The only flaw I’ve found so far is that the lid handle becomes very hot and the lid itself tends to hold water during cooking, so it’s a bit messy when you remove it. The Caraway pan is great for those looking to adopt a heart healthy diet. I’m planning to buy these as Christmas gifts for my family, perhaps the larger pans since they cook more than I do. The mini set is perfect for one, maybe 2 light eaters (and no leftovers). I was indecisive about the color but ultimately settled on the perracotta which is perfect-earthy and bright at the same time. It coordinates well with the coral and turquoise tones in my breakfast nook.
Really nice quality

July 15, 2024The quality of these items really stands out. They're heavy, which is tough to deal with at times (though being smaller pots and pans, it's not too bad for the Minis), but it's also apparent that the quality is very high.
Love that it comes with a storage system. It would be great if it was magnetized, like what they provide with their larger pots and pans so we could snap it into the chain we have going on those bigger ones. You also have to get the lid in just right, often putting the pot and lid into the storage unit in unison, so the handle gets in the way (or you can turn it out, but then it bumps into other things we have in the area).
But the cookware is really excellent. So far, the finish has been extreme stick-resistant, and hasn't chipped or stained. We are making a point of using the right utensils and cleaning approach.
Only thing I'd change is to have glass lids. We're used to them, and not seeing what's going on is a little bit of an issue. Also wish the lid worked on both units. We have another pot with a lid that fits the fry pan, so we're ok, but I imagine other buyers would be surprised to find the lid only fits the pot.
