As I already have several Apple devices, I decided to invest in AirPods. I didn't want to spend $250 on pros, so I decided to try out the 3rd generation AirPods. I have to say, I was very disappointed and ended up returning them only 2 days after purchasing. I think the biggest thing for me was the fact that they would not sit comfortably in my ears, no matter what I did. I specifically felt like the left one was prone to falling out, which is unacceptable for headphones that cost $130ish (I got them during a sale). Because they would not sit comfortably in my ears, I felt like the sound quality was not great too. In addition to sound and fit, I was also disappointed that the case for these was not MagSafe/ they couldn't be charged wirelessly. I am attempting to limit the amount of chargers I need for my devices, and this was just another disappointment. I did love some features (finger tapping to answer phone calls, pausing music/ videos when one AirPod is removed from the ear, etc.), this did not make up for the poor design choices. Overall, I was disappointed. Pros: Double-tap feature (to play, skip forward, answer phone calls), interfacing between devices, pausing feature Cons: Poor design causing AirPods to fall out, not a MagSafe case

So these suck. Easily the worst design of any Apple product IMO. They barely fit in my ears, and the noise cancelling feature is a total joke. Every word of every conversation happening around me was constantly audible, and forget hearing when the phone reads texts to me because, yeah, couldn't hear those at all with any of the Siri voice options. They also have this weird spatial audio thing where the audio moves with your head position, which did nothing outside of make it feel like I had tinnitus or was listening with half my head dunked underwater. I know that they're designed to diminish the damage of loud noises on your eardrums / because whiny, sensitive people were scared by the volume of haptics and alerts on the original AirPods, but come on. These things are atrocious. It sounds like you're constantly listening to music from 6 rooms over, and there's no point using them outside of a quiet environment. Might as well go without, because anyone speaking at more than a casual mumble will be audible. Utter garbage for the price, and I'm glad someone stole mine out of my car (no, really) so I could justify going back to the Gen 2.
