Great set!
G.J.· Review provided by LEGO · March 23, 2024
It took me around 3 hours to construct the castle, but there are also two other medieval buildings you can create with this amazing set! There's a towering outpost with even a functioning catapult! Just the catapult itself offers hours of fun! The third option you can build is a detailed town square marketplace with a cool windmill that spins, and also a cute small tower! Also, in the main castle, two stone towers have two blue flags, which I think is a really cool detail! There are multiple rooms, including a throne room, a jail, a small shop, and a blacksmithing station where your minifigs can make tools! Also, if you spin the waterwheel on the side, the hammer in the blacksmith station hits the sword, which is a really cool play feature! Overall, this is a really great set! The three-in-one thing is the best part in my opinion! The set is detailed, and I recommend it to anyone interested in the medieval times!
I love this little castle so much !

The Black Falcons were in need of a home of their own, their numbers growing. Having spent the past several years hanging out at the Medieval Blacksmith’s - it was time.
Figured I’d pick up this 3-1 castle to give them a place.

The happiness this 3-1 castle gave me was totally unexpected. Can’t explain it other than realizing it’s a first class castle play set.

A scout group of Black Falcons arrived at the onset of construction - and as the towers went up, more came. The recently arrived falconer is sending a message for the rest of the party to head out - to load the wagon with supplies to stock their new outpost castle.

IMO This castle is the perfect size. It’s small, yet big enough to open up and play with (stage scenarios, add side builds, add details, plants or trees).

The build was well paced. There were some great little build techniques - like the working waterwheel anvil in the armory, the drawbridge, the escape wall in the cell. Smart details.

Solid value at retail price. Worth every penny.

If you’ve got minifigs (this set only comes with 3), horses, wagons, animals, weapons, etc from other castle / medieval sets it will come to life instantly and delight you. It’s that good.

It doesn’t compare to the LKC or MB in terms of details, refinement or OG display presence. It looks more like a play set - a BEAUTIFUL play set, mind you! THATS what makes it special. It’s charming. It is a PERFECT play set.

I don’t know what it is about this 3-1 castle that’s enchanted me. Maybe bc it let me be a kid again. Maybe because that’s the magic of Lego castle. Maybe bc it’s simple and affordable and easy-going.

The Medieval Blacksmith is a gorgeous display piece. None better IMO.

Lion Knights Castle is everything one could ask for. Display, play - all of it. It’s the crown jewel of my Lego.

This 3-1 castle though - it’s something unexpectedly wonderful. It’s got some kind of magic.

For whatever it’s worth, I’m super picky about the sets I buy. Not into clutter. Curated collection.

If you haven’t given yourself the pleasure, do pick one up and build it. It took 3 days of chilling on a rainy long weekend - made it last. Super fun build.

Bonus - great parts pack and tons of alt builds available.

The LEGO community has so much love for this set. Now I understand why. Pick one up before its retirement, might pick up another myself !

Happy building !
Fun and Interesting Build

This three in one build has a lot of interesting builds. Unfortunately I was only able to finish some of the builds as my set was missing roughly 4 pieces, but I was able to salvage some from other sets to make it work. Having missing pieces from 3 in 1 sets is especially bad because you don't really notice what all is missing until you do the primary build. Overall the mechanics of the builds are interesting and the playability is super fun. The main castle is held together with flimsy joint pieces and that makes moving the castle around nearly impossible so it needs to be broken off into the three sections to move, which is a little inconvenient if you want to display it somewhere up high. I do wish Lego would have better quality control with missing pieces, but this is the first set i've had this issue with and they send the missing pieces to you which is nice. Unfortunately it takes 1-2 weeks for delivery, so unless you have parts to salvage from other builds, you'll have to wait a while before building.
Much better than expected

I so much miss knight sets. I haven't bought this one before because I bought a bigger Idea Medieval one and just thought this is a cheaper, smaller version. But what a suprise, first build reminded me on my old 80's castle, second it gave me ideas how to enrich my old set with few more details, third it is a perfect play for my 4 year old, it has cool gadgets, and he adores the dragon. One more year and we will have some epic battles with all of our castles. I just wish there is more castle sets, especially some smaller that could complement for even more fun play, like thieves layer, carriages etc.
