Incredible set with just a couple of tweaks
Chef Mama· Review provided by greenpan.us · December 6, 2024
I’ve never researched cookware so extensively and I was happy to come across this product! The ease of cooking and cleaning because of the surface of these makes the tasks a breeze. They have a great weight and the set has great pieces for a comprehensive first set. I also liked the utensils and that they were fully silicone, although I would have liked them to be a bit larger in size.

There’s a lot of talk these days around the safety of nonstick cookware and these kept me at ease. There’s new information about black plastic and utensils; it would be helpful to have safety issues clearly stated of these too, on the Greenspan site.

The largest pot is a great size, although I realized quickly I’ll need to get one another size bigger. This may be because of the extent of cooking I do, and for a family.

One note of caution: make sure to use fully silicone utensils; even though ones with wood or metal in between the handle and cooking surface look better, cooking with these are tricky bc you can’t tap the pot without seemingly causing damage - which is pretty typical in cooking. Unfortunately found that out the hard way.

One other request would be for there to be a waterproof marketing piece that could be kept near/at the sink as a reminder of how to clean, just as people get used to them. We hacked this but it doesn’t look the best ;)
A pot. A pan. A kitchen. A dream.

We wanted to wait a full month before writing a review to ensure a full understanding of the product and accuracy of the review. These elegant pots and pans come in a sleek, gorgeous, and timeless look. They can transform a space by providing just the right amount of color and style to our exposed shelves in a small city apartment. In terms of function, they are simply the best pots and pans we have used. They evenly disperse heat across the pan, can sear like stainless steel, and can withstand heavy usage. On top of all this, they clean like a dream. Never have I ever been able to clean up a big Sunday dinner like I can with Green Pan. I was skeptical about their utensils in the beginning but they have now become my favorite to use. The soft touch of a plastic on the cookware with a strong and supportive structure has made them a dream pairing with our GP5 pots and pans. Green Pan is the #1 cookware brand in my book!

This is not a review of the cookware quality. I researched the heck out of it and I'm confident that we'll love the SS GP5. Purchasing however... this set was on sale for $560. In the product photo there were only pans and lids but below 'add to cart' was a 5 piece utensil set (didn't want it, didn't need it, didn't order it) that said "free with purchase over $275 while supplies last." Upon checkout I saw the 5 piece utensil set with a charge of $24?! I guess supplies didn't last (!) but I shouldn't have been forced to buy them (couldn't remove it). Also, when on any of the pages a box pops up that says 'save $25' - so sure, why not as I'm about to check out. I sign up for it, there's no details on any restrictions and Greenpan sends me a code to use at checkout. I enter it (a few times to make sure it's entered correctly) and a message pops up that the code is not valid with this purchase! So, they were not truthful about the $25 savings AND I'm "forced" into a $24 utensil charge of which I have a drawerful. As I said, I'm sure the cookware will be 5 stars and I'll come back to rate again but this was an awful start.
So far so good!

I've been wanting to cook on healthier pans (instead of nonstick) but kept putting off the decision to purchase anything. I like to really read multiple reviews and think through larger purchases. I've cooked about 2 weeks worth of meals on these pans and another one I got as well.

The surface is very resistant to sticking-- which is what I wanted. It's interesting though it does take a bit longer to heat up and they do tell you to wait 90 seconds to heat it up before cooking. I have a gas stove so my experience may be different, but I think I've gotten the hang of how long it retains heat, how long to heat up, etc. I really like them so far. I have been following their recommendation to not exceed a medium temp when using them, which has made cooking some things a bit longer. Also the navy color, my favorite color, is beautiful.
