Happy with my upgrade purchase

Happy I upgraded to this model iPad Air from my original 2016 Pro. This has the M2 Pro chip so nice and quick with a good quality display and sound. I'm getting used to the new swipe up feature t close apps and I prefer the fingerprint reader at the top. I was quite lucky the colour purple I wanted was reduced at JL so the money I saved actually paid for the new plug that you need for this device. Rather annoyed with Apple since they changed the cable connections that you need a new plug that no longer comes with your device. I can't actually see why it couldn't still have been USB to C so the old plugs aren't obsolete which is my issue with Apple. I like the design of the new plug being foldaway but as I have an older iPhone I still need the USB plug to charge so the new plug would have been handy with both a C and USB port for the price. £19 by the way if you haven't already got one as you will need it.
If this model lasts 8 years like my Pro did I'll be happy.
Excellent product.

Bought to replace previous iPad. The iPad Air does not disappoint. It is easy to set-up. It has a clear screen, is fast, reliable and takes sharp photos and is pleasant to use. The 11 inch screen is a good comfortable size for daily use.
Disappointed that Apple have discontinued including the new USB-C power adapter in the box which adds extra expense. I would definitely recommend purchasing the Apple Smart Folio (although it is expensive) as it is a perfect fit and is extremely well designed by Apple and protects your iPad well.
I use my iPad daily and now hardly use my Microsoft laptop as the iPad Air is far superior and easier to use.
The order process & delivery by John Lewis was as usual fast and efficient and I was given a Pin Code for delivery so that gave me confidence that my parcel would be delivered only to myself at my address giving added security considering the value of the parcel. Highly recommend.
For a iPad its really good

I have always bought the base iPad in the past, but this time decided the M2 CPU convinced me to buy the iPad Air. It is really good as a iPad very responsive. However, with that power comes some heat from back and sometimes it can be a little uncomfortable but not a lot. I bought a Magic Keyboard and basic Pencil USB C and here is where the iPad disappoints. Neither keyboard or Pencil really does much for the investment. It is still a iPad with a touch centric operating system that only partially improves buying a keyboard or Pencil. Actually I dropped the Pencil on a hard floor and it broke so their’s that. The keyboard is useful but an expensive addition if you buy an Apple one. Battery life is good, but not stellar. Would I spend the extra for a iPad Air? Yes, for the iPad itself but would skip the accessories.
Great iPad

Great IPad. We have been a long time user of the iPad Pro series from the 9.3 to the 12.9. We just decided to upgrade our 12.9 3rd Gen Pro so we did a lot of internet reviews. What we found was very interesting, this IPad Air was VERY similiar to the iPad Pro with little differences and less $. After making our purchase we were very happy with the decision. This iPad is fast and for everyday use is superior. The only complaint was that we were forced into buying the NEW Apple Pencil. If you are a pencil user be ready for the extra expense. Overall we are very happy and satisfied with our purchase. This version has the cellular which after having it on our other iPads was a requirement. We stay fully connected wherever we are which is nice when we are traveling or even at the doctors office waiting there is no down time or even watching videos/movies.
