As someone who is constantly 10° hotter than the rest of the room, I am always looking for ways to cool down while sleeping. I've had the bedjet (amazing) along with other thin, lightweight cooling blankets. When my daughter sent me the ad for Rest, I thought it might be worth checking out since I've wanted something with a little more weight than my paper thin Amazon cooling blanket.

It's easy to tell right from taking it out of the package that it does cool. I chose the gray color which is nice and muted - exactly what I want in my bedroom. The problem with the blanket is that the cooling sensation does not last very long. It's my opinion that it stays cool much less time than my lighter blanket of similar material. And once it gets hot, it's not a lot better than just a regular lightweight comforter.

One thing I do like is if it is retaining heat you can turn on a fan and it will cool back down quite quickly, but this is not always available to me in the middle of the winter and a partner next to me.

I am going to continue to use the Rest Evercool Cooling Comforter, in the hopes that I can find a way to make it work.

The last time I bought a cool-fabric light comforter, it turned out to be a stealth lemon. The fabric cover was very thin and stretchy, but the swirly patterned stitching thread, meant to hold the fill in a distributed spread, was thick, unyielding and not anchored. The stitches were very small with no give at all considering the blanket would get more handling than a scarf. It was a bad, thoughtless design. Even the slightest tug on the blanket while making the bed popped the stitches every time! I treated it gently, line a chiffon garment, but in few months most of TNT stitching had pulled out and the fiberfill sloshed around and bunched up. I trusted Rest as more responsive than the Nonsense Name brand of my old comforter, and ordered this one. What a world of difference! It’s cool, substantial, well made, and the stitches are just generous enough to give. The stitch pattern is more even and parallel. The surface of the cool fabric is smooth, it doesn’t catch or pill. The color options are beautiful: I ordered two-tone gray. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Absolutely love this comforter it’s top-notch in EVERY way …soft feel, cooling comfort, easy to launder, no wrinkles and no pilling. My only complaint is that they’re a lack of colors. Or more specifically DARK colors. They offer one dark color that’s navy blue, and as you can see, it’s always sold out where as the other three they offer that are light colors are usually available. The funny thing is Navy Blue doesn’t match anything I have and the lighter colors are easier to match but I would still choose the navy blue one, because I won’t have to wash it as often and the lighter colors show every bit of moisture & dirt. Although these are pet friendly if my dog gets on the bed and licks his paws one time or a drop of condensation falls from my cup it will show a wet spot because the color is so light. The gray, the white, the beige, and the light blue all show moisture and dirt. Only the SOLD OUT navy blue doesn’t show every single thing. I guess I have to live with washing it more often or being extremely careful until they come out with more DARK colors -which I’ll do because they are amazing.

The lavender color is beautiful and much larger than I’d expected; in fact, the twin size is so large that my husband was covered by a piece of it and he asked when I’d be ordering one for him.
