Inexpensive, functional, basically okay

So far, it's pretty similar to the 2023 model it replaced. Some Motorola apps have shifted around. Google's backup and restore basically worked. The stylus appears to be slightly better than the 2023's, but still isn't very good overall. The Games thing is kind of annoying, but can be disabled.

The Quick Launch panel is worse than before. It's much taller, and is designed to run off the bottom edge of the screen. Odd, but would at least be manageable, except that two Google apps always get pinned at the top of the panel, above everything /I/ pinned, which means two apps I use way more frequently aren't immediately visible. It doesn't appear to be possible to stop it from doing that. The panel is also noticeably slower to load than on the 2023 model.

Peek display is still missing, but there's a fairly similar lock screen option in its place (though the four chits at the top never display anything for me, sadly). The rest of the Moto Gestures are intact, including chopping to turn on the flashlight, twisting to open the camera, and flipping to turn on DND.

The micro SD card / expandable storage slot works. The 3.5 mm audio/headphone jack works. The fingerprint scanner in the bottom part of the screen works, though I wish I could lower the max brightness used on the radial effect (unless, heaven forbid, the phone is using the light to optically recognize my fingerprint).

We'll see whether the 2024 model ages better than the 2023 model did. I have resigned myself to replacing my phone every 2-3 years, but my 2023 didn't even make it to 2 years before it became practically unusable. I may wipe it later to see whether the hardware is salvageable, but while running Android, it has gotten far too slow and unstable. Apps constantly behave like they're flushed from RAM the instant I navigate away from them, when they're not just crashing to the home screen. The camera app is unusably slow to open and react, often freezing and crashing within 15 seconds of opening. After upgrading to Android 14, USB access failed to work with an error message indicating that the phone simply was not able to communicate what it was to any computer or operating system ("The device was not recognized", I think, after changing to "File transfer"). Google Support was predictably unhelpful, and Motorola support was impossible to contact.
[Rewarded Review] Best Moto Stylus phone, and a great phone overall

I think this is the best Moto G stylus phone they've come out with. I've used Moto G Stylus phones in the past and thought they were good but never where I was too impressed. Before I got this one I was using a Samsung Galaxy A54 for awhile now and after I started using this I liked it better. I feel like it performs better than my Samsung and looks nicer. The screen is so nice and has little bezels. I also can see it outside in the sun a lot better than before. The fingerprint sensor is one of the best I've ever used that wasn't on a flagship phonr and I also thought it worked better than my Pixel 6a I used to have and also my A54's. The cameras on here really surprised me. I thought the pictures I took were really good, maybe not the quality as an S24 or Pixel but pretty close. I thought video taking looked good, almost like my Samsung just depends how lighting conditions are. I gave this phone all stars because of how much they improved this out of all the Moto G Stylus phones. This is definitely a phone to look at if you're a fan of the stylus phone or Samsung Notes and you don't need the best camera and you're not a heavy gamer this is a good phone. But I took several pictures in low light and I was so impressed how it did I had to show them. But definitely give this phone a look. It might work just as good for you as any other phone.

I have had this phone for almost two weeks now and I love it. I cannot believe all that you get for such a low price. 6.7 screen, nice vegan leather back in the gorgeous red, stylus, headphone jack, what seems to be a great battery and unlocked for $249.00?!?!

I was tired of the bloatware from the major carriers, terrible trade in scams and the Samsung UI. The few pre loaded apps from Moto are actually helpful and easy to use. No searching for Good Lock in the Samsung app store while also having the Play app store. Moto trims the fat and gives you apps you can easily dismiss and you won't see them in your app drawer or home screen. Can't do that with a Samsung.

I moved from T-Mobile to Visible with no problems.

The only other phone that has my attention is the new One Plus 13 or even 12. I'm just tired of the same ole same ole. Whether sponsored YouTubers want you to know or not there are other phones and UIs that are worth checking out.

This phone is lacking spec wise in comparison to the big boys but it also goes to show that a good phone doesn't have to be a rent payment either.
Looks awesome and feature rich

I got this phone about a month ago. I hope to do another review once some more time has passed to assess if this review holds up with the phone's life. I love how it looks, it has a huge display it's almost all screen. It has decent cameras with nice resolution, I take pictures of beetles and insects, as well as landscape and portraits and it puts out good looking pictures. Love the fact that you can just take notes with the stylus at any time, pretty handy. The only reason it didn't score a full 5 out of 5 stars for me is the battery life. If you use the phone a lot through the day, the battery is going to run out before the day ends even with the battery saver mode on. This is something Motorola phones should seriously improve upon. A 5,000 milliamp battery is no longer a feature when the phone sports a giant screen, rather the default. I have been using Motorola's for over 10 years now and I still like the fact that they're affordable and have good decent spec's for the money. This one won't disappoint.
