We truly miss them!

Since the old yellow Maltese buses have been removed from local streets, they have become gems of the Maltese Islands and are always a sight to behold when spotted.

Sometimes, you’d spot the odd bus that has been turned into a party bus or even a souvenir bus on the islands. But this Maltese bus was spotted off the islands! A number 62 Leyland 420 yellow bus was spotted in Kent, United Kingdom!

A Facebook user posted to Nostalgia Malta, showing the lone ranger among other British buses, saying it is now used for tourist attractions, weddings, and the like. Raking in quite the comments, many people part of the group expressed their love for these traditional buses and sadness since they’re no longer around.

“This one’s heading to St Julian’s,” said one user, referring to the number 62, which used to be the route number for this area. “The terminus in St Julian’s used to be where Tigullio is now,” said another.

One other user went as far as saying they should be reintroduced on Maltese roads. “They should change the engines to more modern and efficient ones and put them back on the roads. This way, local cultural and traditions are still kept and I bet more people would want to use them, because there’s nothing like these buses.” We’d love to see that!
